School Psychologists: An Asset To Any School

Jodie Tharp and Leigh Ann Thul

Inserted Image

The West Central Education District is lucky to have two highly qualified psychologists providing services to students and families in the member districts. Our psychologists are engaged in assisting teams in identifying strategies to make the learning experience one that is successful for children and parents alike.

Individuals who work as psychologists in our schools have graduate school training in specific skills in assessment and intervention processes.  It is important that school psychologists have a broad understanding of the various learning modalities brought by students to the classroom.  They assist teachers in developing appropriate interventions and making necessary modifications for at risk students.

Jodie Tharp has been a school psychologist for the WCED schools for many years, while Leigh Ann is in her second year of practice.  This is the perfect blend of extensive experience and innovative change that only helps to broaden our ability to accurately identify effective strategies for teachers and their students.
